As Teri shared yesterday, we're taking what each of us have learned over the years, and want to share our lessons in hopes that you can have a great Thanksgiving. I can't wait to read the rest of my co-workers Lessons so I can learn from them as well. And remember, these aren't just for Thanksgiving, but Lessons for life. Tammy's Lesson: Have Fun & Laugh!
I grew up in a family where we played lots of games. Not only on Thanksgiving, but in general. It was how we spent alot of our family time together. Especially on Thanksgiving after we were done eating and the dishes were done, my extended family all got together and played card games. If you were a kid, you were involved as well. We weren't too young to learn and were included in the fun.
Some good-spirited competition always makes for great laughs and generally leaves a few great stories to tell for the next get-together. When you're able to laugh, not only at others, but at yourself as well, you're in the present moment and enjoying it. You're not worrying about the future and "what-if-ing" yourself into the ground. We all need these moments every day, every week, not just at the holidays.
I pray that your Thanksgiving and following days are filled with lots of laughter. Thanks for reading.
