Lessons From Inspirational Quotes - Tamara

"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival." - C.S. Lewis
Do you have a best friend? I mean, a friend that when something happens you think, "Oh, I can't wait to tell _______ about this!" This quote from C.S. Lewis couldn't be more accurate. Friends make life more fulfilling, enjoyable and when life isn't going so well, they make it bearable. However, if you don't have a best friend/someone you can talk to, life seems lonely, and can be fearful to face. Did you know having a friend:
  • increases our sense of social belonging
  • supports positive mental health
  • raises our self-esteem

Wow! Who knew? If you struggle with finding someone to be your best friend, start small. Don't think of it as making it your mission to "find a best friend". Call someone up to have coffee or chat with someone whom you haven't spoken to in a while.....and keep it up. See where it leads. Pray for your Higher Power to put someone in your life that will be a true friend.
