In honor of Father’s Day, we will be discussing personal blessings from our fathers this week on the blog. We hope as we take time to reflect, you are able to also look at the ways your father impacted your own life:
Work ethic and serving others
My dad was a wonderful example of what it meant to be a hard worker. After I was born, he put himself through college while working. I remember in 4th grade, my dad went back to school to earn his Master’s degree. In addition to working full-time, he attended graduate school for 2 years so that he could provide a better life for my sister and I. He truly modeled what it looked like to sacrifice. He taught me that hard work and dedication pays off. I definitely feel my work ethic and dedication to my career came from his example.
My dad also taught me the importance of serving others. He served in our church and in our community for as long as I can recall. I remember being a little girl, and delivering food baskets with my parents. I believe my heart to serve others came from the example that both of my parents modeled to me.
We hope you’ll check back this week as we share different examples of ways our fathers blessed our lives!
