This week we have been discussing how to know if you are ready for counseling. Have you recognized any of the items we have mentioned this week? So many people and couples go thru life just accepting it as difficult, boring, and full of heartache. But that doesn't have to be the case. If any of these issues are present, maybe it's time to do something about it!
Do you identify with.....
5. When the issues and feelings in your life become unmanageable. For example, if your relationships are constantly full of conflict and chaos, they might be unmanageable. If your work depresses you and it effects your personal and professional life, it might be becoming unmanageable. If your kids are out of control, your home life might be unmanageable.
6. When you notice you are repeating similar patterns over and over. I know we have said it before but the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. If you are doing the same things that cause you distress over and over such as over-eating, drinking, drugs etc. and wondering why life is so difficult, it may be time for help. If you find yourself in the same kinds of relationship repeatedly, just with different people, it may be time to find out WHY you pick this particular type of person and take some time to work on yourself.
There are great benefits to counseling. With a lot of hard work, it could literally change your life forever. Let us know if this is something you would like to do. We work with people every day who have seen these same things in their lives and have made the changes. It's worth the work! Tomorrow Joleen will discuss 2 more ways to identify if you are ready.
Thank you for reading.
