Ever had an AH-HA moment? What about a moment that altered your life's course? This week we are each sharing one of our AH-HA and life changing moments with you! As you walk life's journey we hope you will pay attention to these moments and give them the acknowledgment they deserve. A single moment could change your life! Teri's Life Changing Moment
I've struggled with control issues for a long time. As a child there were many moments I felt totally out of control, so my natural coping mechanism was to attempt to control as much as I can. My control issues are more about myself rather than the people around me. My future plans, expectations of myself, goals, etc, all got lost in this notion that I could have complete power over it. This thought process was turned upside down when I heard the words "I'm sorry. You've had a miscarriage" four years ago and then again 2 years later. What? That wasn't part of the plan! My body wasn't supposed to fail me in that way! My grief process of loosing my first child was a life altering experience. It put all of my control issues into perspective and helped me see that there are many things in my life that I can't and won't be able to control. As I grieved the loss of my child, I also shed tears and let go of my false belief system that I was super woman and could control my whole life. As painful as this loss is, it brought me to a much needed fork in my life's path. From that moment on, I chose to turn down the road of controlling those things I knew I could and giving myself grace on things I couldn't. As a result, I have a much healthier life physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My heart will forever ache for the 2 children I have lost, however, I thank them for showing me a new way of life and I honor them each day I take a step on my new path.
Stay tuned this week to see how each of us have been affected by AH-HA moments!
