Characteristics of Healthy Friendships-3

I must say my friends are one of life's richest blessings. I am so grateful to have them. Especially those I pass in the halls of Imagine Hope on a daily basis. So I'm excited to celebrate National Friendship Day this week. One more characteristic of a healthy friendship that is very important is Loyalty. Loyalty

The actual definition of loyalty is a strong desire of support or allegiance. This means that you can depend on someone no matter what. Friends are definitely fun during the good times (oh how there is nothing more great than a big laugh with a friend!) but true friends stick around even when the season in your life is stormy, busy, or just different.

Some synonyms for loyalty: faithfulness or devotion.

Are you a faithful friend? When you say you are going to do something do you actually follow through and do it?  Being faithful is being reliable and keeping your word. This is so important for a healthy friendship. Knowing you can rely on that person no matter what is priceless.

One saying that sounds cliche but it's so true: "To have friends you need to BE a friend." It's always good to be mindful in our relationships. It's good to ask if you are being dependable, faithful, and do you support your friends? If so, I'm sure you have an abundance of friends!

Thank you for reading. Tomorrow Joleen will finish out with another characteristic of a good friend.
