Maintaining Your Relationship Connection - 2

Hopefully last week on Valentines Day you re-kindled the flame. But, February 14th isn't the only day when love needs to be expressed, is it? This week we want to help you maintain that connection in your relationship. Here's today's recommendation: #2 Stay Positive

Do you ever notice feeling more positive when you're around positive people? But feeling negative when you're around negative people? The same concept exists for relationships and marriage.

At Imagine Hope we always encourage couples to make the first 60-seconds they see each other at the end of the day to be positive, encouraging and loving. This first 60-seconds must be void of complaining, criticisms, and grumbling. This may be hard to do at first, but we believe it will make a big difference in interactions, and set the tone for the rest of your time together.

When parenting, sometimes it's easier to praise behavior you see your children doing (and behavior you WANT them to be doing), than it is to punish the behavior you want them to stop (not to say that discipline needs to stop). As a parent, it gets you in a positive frame of mind and you begin looking for behavior that's positive. Attitudes all around naturally lift and become brighter.

Be positive when asking about loved one's days, whether it's family members or friends. Sending encouraging texts throughout the day to loved ones can also create and spread positivity. In return, you may find yourself feeling joy and happiness.
