8 Ways To Screw Up Your Kid - Inconsistent Rules

It's nice to know what will work in the world of parenting. Sometimes it's easier to go over what WILL NOT work in order to get the message across more effectively. This week we're taking notes from Julie Hanks who has come up with a list of things parents can do that will NOT work in the areas of parenting. #2 Set Inconsistent Rules

Imagine working in your job where some days you get in trouble for making mistakes, being late, or not following through on assigned projects and then some days you don't get reprimanded. Pretty confusing, huh?

If your goal is to screw up your child, then follow these simple steps: Don't set rules, don't talk about expectations and keep them guessing about what behavior you would like to see from them.

In addition, change the household rules daily or weekly, this way, your child will not know how to behave and will start to walk on eggshells.

As a kicker, only hand out discipline here and there, so the inconsistency will confuse your child. Get frustrated with them and make comments that they should "Know what we're expecting from you by now!"
