This week we are looking at questions to ask yourself while you are making those new goals for the New Year. It will definitely help you, if you haven't already read this week, to go back and read the other blogs of Teri, Tamara, and Alexa. They all build wonderfully on each other. Today we are going to ask the question, "What are your dreams?" Be sure and answer this question in all of the following areas: 1. Material Goals
2. Family and Friends Goals
3. Educational/ Intellectual/ Professional Goals
4. Health Goals
5. Leisure Goals
6. Spiritual Goals
7. Creative Goals
8. Emotional/ Psychological Growth
This really is about, well....dreaming!! What do you dream about? For your health, some people could dream of getting into those old jeans you love so much. Another may dream that they want to just feel more mentally healthy and could do this thru better nutrition and exercise.
Maybe a material dream is you want to own a house or take the kids to Disney World this year. Or a creative dream might be to learn to paint for pleasure. What about that class you always wanted to take on Philosophy? That would be an educational/intellectual dream.
A Spiritual dream may be dreaming of have a true, honest relationship with God. Or how about sharing your faith with a friend this year?
You get the picture- this is something you have always wanted to do, change, or become but have never taken the time, had the energy, or just thought about the steps.
I encourage you to write down your dreams in each area. Then remember the tips Teri gave about taking small steps to achieve them. When we look at dreams, they often remain dreams because they look overwhelming with just taking a snapshot. But when you break them into small steps, they become obtainable!
Tomorrow Joleen will talk about Question 4. We wish you the best of luck in reaching your dreams and goals for this year! Thank you for your time and reading.
