The Imagine Hope Experience Part 3

Earlier this week Natalie discussed how we strive for the environment at Imagine Hope to help the healing process, and Joleen shared how customer service plays a part in The Experience. Today we'll focus on three other aspects you'll share in at Imagine Hope. First of all, we do alot of education with our clients. We understand you're coming in for help on issues in your personal life, marriage/relationship, with your children, job, etc... and if you already knew how to handle it, then you wouldn't be coming in, right? We know we have to give you information in order to guide and help you start changing behaviors in order for you to get different results & meet your goals. There's rarely a session when a client leaves without "homework" of some sort, and often times there's handouts and book recommendations that are given.

Secondly, we deal with the root issues. What exactly does this mean? It means we don't put a band-aid on a gunshot wound. For example, if you're coming in with an addiction problem or infidelity, we address the root causes of these problems, rather than just getting you over the addiction or thru the crisis mode of the betrayal. Yes, getting someone past crisis mode is important & thru an addiction is important, but we want you to understand why these things were developed/occurred in the first place. If we don't help you figure this out, then we can't help you make the necessary changes to make sure it doesn't happen again in the future. We wouldn't feel as though we were doing you a service if we did it any other way.

Lastly, we respect our client's decisions on their therapy. We don't force clients to stay in therapy if the client is ready to leave. If you come in with goals but don't reach all of them, or need to quit before reaching all of them, that's OK! If we see an issue someone needs to work on, but that person isn't ready to address that issue, we will not force you to work on it. This may be for a different time and place. You can always expect the therapists at Imagine Hope to be straightforward & honest.

In all, education, dealing with root causes of issues, and respecting our clients decisions are all part of the Imagine Hope Experience!
